Ranneko Plays Twitch Achievements – Channel Update 2017-12-15

Twitch recently rolled out achievements. Normally I don’t really get why you would want achievements for website usage, but I guess this both fits their brand and helps solve a very important problem: How do I know if I am affiliate or partner material?

While trying to rebuild my buffer (which I mostly also stream to my twitch channel) I noticed I was remarkably close to filling all the requirements for Twitch affiliate and on Wednesday of this week I succeeded!

I had some fun just doing more normal Heat Signature streams for a change rather than the slightly awkward non-interactive Let’s Play recording streams I normally do. I will have to see if I can make time for more in the future.

The last week’s releases were:

Saturday and Thursday: Pillars of Ranternity
Sunday: Ran Is Away Too
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: The Ransistance: War of the Chosen
Tuesday: Heat Signature Hot Tips / Ranneko’s Tuesday Tips

We return to the depths below Caed Nua, fulfilling the basic design of a dungeon we are meant to visit periodically during the overall adventure. Additionally I found out that there are some interesting loopholes in the requirements to improve soulbound weapons.

I always find the focus on Halloween kind of strange in American media. It just isn’t that big a deal in Australia. Growing up the only thing we tended to do was to try to go out that night to avoid the awkwardness of 1 or 2 kids trying to trick or treat despite most houses not participating.

We are in the final stages now. We have won the war with the chosen, all that is left is mopping up those facilities while we wait for the various Shadow Chamber projects to complete. This in no way encourages complacency and would never result in forgetting minor details and a late game soldier death.

This tip is super situational and was a skill I primarily developed due to a bug in the post-Fair points update period where only 1 guard per ship would go on patrol. That has since been fixed, but there are still a few times where it can be quite handy.

If you are trying for a pacifist or ghost run and you want to preserve your stealth shields and teleporters, this can be a nice low tech way of ensuring the guards are not looking your way as you rush headlong towards your objective.
